Aisles
To keep our venue safe and accessible, it’s important to keep aisles clear at all times. Please let our ushers help you to your assigned seats and refrain from standing in the aisles.
Alcohol Consumption
The Sydney Entertainment Centre serves alcohol at most events at the venue. The Sydney Entertainment Centre takes alcohol management seriously and intoxicated or quarrelsome patrons will not be permitted onto the premises and any intoxicated person on premises may be removed. Patrons refusing to leave the venue if requested by venue staff may potentially face arrest. Quantity of alcoholic drinks to be purchased per patron is 4 drinks however this quantity may be reduced at the management’s discretion. Management may decide to close the bars within the venue at their discretion. The Sydney Entertainment Centre is a member of the City Central Liquor Accord. All of our front of house staff, security personnel and food and beverage attendants are RSA trained and enforce the legislation as required. The venue may ask any patron under 30 years of age for approved ID in one of the following forms:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current Passport
- NSW RTA Photo Card
Patrons under 18 are not permitted under any circumstances to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages on the premises. Patrons are not permitted to bring into or remove alcohol from the venue.
ATM Facilities
The Sydney Entertainment Centre has an ATM in the upstairs foyer between Doors 9 and 10.
Alternatively, there is another ATM located outside the building on Harbour Street to the right of McDonalds.
Audio Visual Equipment
Guests may not bring audio-visual equipment into the arena. This includes video cameras, camcorders and audio recording devices. You can check these devices, at no charge, into the cloak room located between Doors 4 and 5 on the lower foyer.

Baby Change Facilities
Baby change areas are located in the toilets between Doors 2 and 3 and also in the male and female toilets on the centre Mezzanine Level.
Bags, Backpacks and Suitcases
It is a requirement that all suitcases, backpacks and other large items will need to be checked, at no charge, into the cloak room, located between Doors 4 and 5 on the Lower Foyer before entering the arena.
Bag Checks
Searches of persons', clothing, bags and other items may be conducted on entry and the Sydney Entertainment Centre reserves the right to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the event or other patrons, or which are in breach of the code of conduct.
Bars
The Sydney Entertainment Centre welcomes you to enjoy our range of onsite bars, serving food and drinks at every show. For more information please see our Food and Beverage page.
Box Office
The Box Office is open from Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (except Public Holidays) and during events. For evening weekend performances, the Box Office opens at 2.00pm. The Box Office is located at the front of the building at 35 Harbour Street, Darling Harbour or you can phone the Box Office on 02 9320 4200 during opening hours.

Cancelled or Delayed Concert
Should an event at the Sydney Entertainment Centre be postponed or cancelled for any reason, please visit the specific event page at either links Sydney Entertainment Centre or Ticketmaster for further information.
Cloak Room
A cloak room is located between Doors 4 and 5 on the lower foyer. This is a free service and we encourage our guests to check any items they don’t wish to bring into the arena. Please note for larger events a second Cloak Room is open on the upper foyer opposite Door 8.

Child Admissions
All guests entering the venue must have a valid ticket - this includes young children however, certain events (e.g. family and schools events) may allow young children to sit on their parent/guardian’s lap without a ticket. Therefore, if the child requires a seat, they must hold a valid ticket. Some events insist on minors being accompanied by an adult, where other events like comedy, theatre & some concerts may not be suitable for children under a certain age such to adult content. As each event is different, age restrictions and requirements particular to each event are noted where applicable on the events information page.
The Sydney Entertainment Centre does not recommend subjecting children to loud music over a continued time frame. Ear plugs are available for purchase from any of the merchandise booths.
Code of Conduct
Prohibited behaviour includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Shouting, swearing, fighting, throwing objects or any other actions that could be unsettling to a member of the public;
- Sexually overt, indecent behaviour or the removal of clothing should be reported to a front of house staff member or security personnel immediately;
- Patrons who consume alcoholic beverages shall do so in a responsible way;
- Guests may not sit in seats which do not correspond to their valid tickets.
- Guests are not allowed to stand on seats nor should they block the aisles at any time;
- Moshing, crowd surfing or stage diving is not allowed by patrons within the arena at any time;
- The Sydney Entertainment Centre does not allow patrons to smoke anywhere inside its building at any time.
Management at the Sydney Entertainment Centre uses its best discretion to safeguard and ensure that our 750,000 patrons who attend events each year have an enjoyable experience. Guests should respect others and their space around them. However, any patrons who disregard the venue’s Code of Conduct may be subject to ejection from the premises without refund, and if any person knowingly breaks the law, may be appended by the police.
Companion Card
Companions accompanying a special needs patron may be allocated a ticket to the same event free of charge if they have been issued with a Companion Card. When booking, the Companion Card will need to be either scanned/emailed or faxed and submitted when the booking is made on the Special Needs Booking Line. Please refer to Special Needs Patrons Page.

Dress Code
Appropriate dress is required within all areas of the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Bare feet are not an acceptable form of dress (thongs and other open toe casual wear is allowed) in the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Drop Off Points
There is a drop off area outside the main entrance of the venue directly in front of the Box Office - 35 Darling St, Darling Harbour - with level walking access into the main lower foyer of the building. This provides easy access to facilities such as the box office, merchandise stands, food and beverage outlets on this level including the newly renovated MuSEC Room.

Entry (Conditions)
Patrons must produce a valid ticket to gain entry to the Sydney Entertainment Centre and upon request by an usher, for inspection at any time. Failure to produce a ticket when requested may result in the patron being ejected from the venue.
General Admission (GA) patrons will be supplied with a wristband on entry through the arena doors to gain access to the main floor.
In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all patrons, the Sydney Entertainment Centre reserves the right at its reasonable discretion to refuse admission without compensation.
Animals, with the exception of Guide Dogs, are not permitted into the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
The Sydney Entertainment Centre reserves the right to refuse entry to persons who are:
- Intoxicated, violent or disorderly;
- Drug affected or found in possession of drugs;
- Attempting to bring alcohol or unsealed drinks into the venue;
- Attempting to bring weapons or any other dangerous materials into the venue.

Feedback
Continuing to make the Sydney Entertainment Centre a world-class entertainment venue is paramount, so constructive feedback from our guests is always appreciated. We welcome all suggestions to events@sydentcent.com.au
However, any patron with an issue to raise concerning their experience at the Sydney Entertainment Centre should always try and speak with venue staff at the time, so appropriate remedial action can be taken to fix the problem.
The Sydney Entertainment Centre will respond to feedback forms within 48 hours.
Food
The Sydney Entertainment Centre serves a range of “food on the run” with healthy options along with a selection of soft and alcoholic beverages to be enjoyed before and during the show. See the Food and Beverage page for more details.
First Aid
A First Aid station is located adjacent to Door 3 on the lower foyer. For your safety, and that of event personnel and artists, St John's Ambulance staff attends all events, and close liaison is maintained with Police and Fire Departments at all times.
Function Rooms
We have a range of function rooms available for pre-show dinners and cocktail parties, as well as gala dinners, meetings, seminars and conferences. See the Functions & Catering page for more details.

Info Desk
If you require assistance inside the Venue, there is an information booth located on the lower foyer opposite reception (between Doors 3 and 4). Reception desk is also open during shows and is available to provide any additional help.
For guests, there is a courtesy phone located at the information booth.
Intoxicated Guests

Laptops
Laptops are not permitted inside the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
If a patron enters the venue with a laptop it will need to be checked, at no charge, into the Cloak Room, located between Doors 4 and 5 on the lower foyer before entering the arena. The Sydney Entertainment Centre holds no responsibility for property that is lost, stolen or damaged and our recommendation is to avoid bringing items such as laptops, iPads and other valuables into the venue.
Lifts
On arrival in the lower foyer, you will find lifts located near Doors 1 and 5. These lifts access the upper foyer at Doors 6 and 14 where you’ll find bars, the Jack Neary room and access to Doors 6 to 15.
Special needs patrons and their companions can exit from the lift on level 2 and proceed to their correct entry door where ushers will act as escorts to the area reserved for our patrons with special needs.

The Sydney Entertainment Centre will respond to all requests within 24 hours.
All items not claimed within a 6 month period will be donated to the Smith Family.

Merchandise
Merchandise is available on event days only. There is an outlet in the lower foyer with ancillary stands located across from Doors 5 and on the Upper Foyer at Door 9. Program stands are also located in the lower foyer as well as on the upper foyer between Doors 10 and 11.
Media Access
Media credentials can be requested by contacting the Promoter of the touring artist.
Moshing (crowd surfing or stage diving)
This behaviour is strictly prohibited and offenders will be removed from the Venue.

Pre-sale Information
My Ticketmaster pre-sales entitle eligible, pre-registered My Ticketmaster Members to purchase tickets prior to them becoming available to the general public. To be eligible you must have signed up to become a My Ticketmaster Member at Ticketmaster and select to receive "Special Event Related Offers" and the applicable "Category of Interest" or "Performer Alert". Registration is required to be completed at least 48 hours prior to the announcement of the presale. Once the presale is announced, an email is sent to eligible members advising of the date tickets will be released and the password you need to access them. When the tickets are released, you will be able to access them on www.ticketmaster.com.au

Refund Policy
Unless the event you have purchased a ticket for has been cancelled or rescheduled, or there are legal requirements that provide otherwise (including those of the Australian Consumer Law), tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. If an event is rescheduled, you will be offered equivalent seats at the rescheduled event. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event or an event is cancelled entirely, you are entitled to a refund of the face value of the tickets and the ticket-booking fee. However, once an event has taken place there is generally no right to a refund or exchange. Please contact Ticketmaster or call 1300 883 622 for exact instructions should in the unlikely event a show is cancelled or rescheduled.

Security
The Sydney Entertainment employs security risk management company PRG for every event. They provide a team of specialised, licensed security officers to ensure the safety of all guests, event personnel and artists.
Smoking Areas
In adhering to the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000, the Sydney Entertainment Centre does not allow smoking in any of its enclosed public areas.
Designated smoking areas are provided – please refer to our in-house signage at the event or check at the information booth on the lower foyer.
No pass-outs are required in the designated Smoking Areas.
Sound Levels
As with most contemporary concerts, these performances can produce loud levels of sound. Any guests concerned with their hearing should bring along their own ear-plugs. Ear-plugs are also available for sale at the merchandise counters inside the venue.
Strobe Lighting
Guests are advised that certain events may use strobe lighting or lighting sequences that involve rapid and/or repeated flashing. Signage is displayed at the doors to the arena upon entry. Any patrons who are affected by this style of lighting should make further enquiries with one of our ushers.
Strollers
Strollers are not allowed in the seating sections of the Sydney Entertainment Centre and guests are encouraged to leave them in their vehicles prior to arrival. Alternatively, they can be checked, at no charge, into the cloak room located between doors 4 and 5 on the Lower Foyer.

Taxis
Taxis are readily available on Harbour Street in front of the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
TDP (Talent Development Project)
The Sydney Entertainment Centre provides the TDP with space and a venue for workshops, auditions, rehearsals and the annual graduation START ME UP Concert. The Talent Development Project develops the talents and careers of young Australian performers and songwriters, through working with the entertainment community and providing unique industry experience. Steve Romer, general manager of the Sydney Entertainment Centre is a board member of TDP.
Telephones
There are no public telephones inside the Venue. There is a courtesy house phone located at the information booth where guests can make local calls free of charge.

Toilets
There are toilets available throughout the Venue. They are located on the lower foyer and mezzanine levels of the building. Toilets designed for special needs patrons are easily accessible and are located outside Door 10 on the upper foyer and between Doors 4 and 5 on the lower foyer.
Baby change areas are located in the toilets between Doors 2 and 3 and in the male and female toilets on the centre mezzanine Level.
