  • Terms & Conditions (Conditions of Entry) 

    The Sydney Entertainment Centre is a vibrant venue and we want to ensure that all of our event experiences run as smoothly as possible.  The SEC management wishes our guests an enjoyable time and kindly asks that when you visit the venue, you abide by our code of entry and conditions:

    Age Restrictions 

    All guests entering the venue must have a valid ticket – this includes young children however, certain events (e.g. family and schools events) may allow young children to sit on their parent/guardian’s lap without a ticket. If however the child requires a seat they must hold a valid ticket. Some events insist on minors being accompanied by an adult, where other such events ie. comedy, theatre and concerts that are not suitable for children under a certain age. As each event is truly unique and different, age restrictions and requirements particular to each event are noted where applicable on the events information page.

    Prohibited Items 

    All illegal weapons such as firearms & knives will be confiscated at the door and police alerted.  At risk items such as studded belts, spiked collars, long chains will need to be removed before entering the building as these may be deemed a threat to the general public.  The possession of alcohol, illegal substances or any other items considered dangerous or unsafe will be prohibited at the discretion of the Sydney Entertainment Centre security and its staff.  

    Security 

    At certain events and at the request of the performer/promoter, the Sydney Entertainment Centre is instructed to conduct security searches of bags being brought into the venue along with pat downs of guests to ensure no prohibited items are being brought into the venue.  Any guest refusing to comply with the direction of security and its staff will be denied entry to the venue.

    Solicitation 

    The Sydney Entertainment Centre may ask any guests to leave the venue and/or its surrounding perimeter if they are attempting to sell an item or service, distributing pamphlets or undertaking an activity without the express authority of the venue or its promoter.

    Smoking  

    Smoking is strictly not allowed anywhere within the building. 

    Cameras and Video/Audio Recording Equipment 

    The use of professional photographic or video/audio recording equipment is strictly prohibited. Guests found with these items will be requested to cloak any such equipment whilst inside the venue.  Any person found with images on their camera will be requested to delete any images, sound and/or video and sound from their equipment.

    Malicious Damage to Property 

    Any person interfering or damaging any property or emergency equipment belonging to the Sydney Entertainment Centre will be asked to leave the premises by Sydney Entertainment Centre security or its staff.  SEC may request police  attend this incident.  

    Food & Beverage 

    Food is not allowed to be brought into the venue.  The contents of any opened drink bottles will need to be consumed or disposed of prior to entering the venue.  

    Alcohol Policy 

    The Sydney Entertainment Centre is a licenced premise; therefore no alcohol is allowed to be brought onsite.

    Any guest found to be intoxicated on arrival will be denied entry to the venue.

    Alcohol Consumption Policy (inside the venue) 

    Sydney Entertainment Centre practices Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA). Any guest who is found to be intoxicated will be removed and be denied re-entry.  The Sydney Entertainment Centre has a strict policy to limit the number of alcoholic drinks that a guest may purchase at any one time.  This may vary according to the event and will be clearly displayed at the point of sale. The licensee has the right to restrict or terminate the sale of alcohol at the venue at his or her discretion. Any guests under the age of 30 may be asked to provide appropriate identification at the time they purchase alcohol.  You must be able to produce valid and current proof of age upon request from our staff and security.  Acceptable forms of identification include either; a current passport, a current photo driver’s licence or a NSW RTA Photo Card. 

    If you are asked to leave the venue, it is usually due to your level of intoxication.  If you feel you have been asked to leave in error, please request to see one of our managers on duty.  Patrons who refuse to leave the venue upon request or try to re- enter are actually committing an offence and may be denied future access to this venue. Police may be called for patrons failing to leave the venue if previously requested by security or venue staff.

    At certain events, the promoter may request for the venue not to make alcohol available for sale.

    At the discretion of the Sydney Entertainment Centre and/or the venue promoter, alcohol is not allowed to be taken into the arena for certain events.   If this is the case, alcoholic beverages will be required to be consumed in the upper and lower foyers before entering the auditorium.

    For particular shows, at the request of the performer and/or their promoter, all drinks may need to be decanted into disposable cups before entering the auditorium and lids removed from soft drink bottles.   

    Moshing/Crowd Surfing 

    Crowd surfing or moshing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre is prohibited. Any guests engaging in this behaviour will be asked to refrain from such activity.  If the guest continues to behave in such a manner they may be asked to leave the premises.

    Dress Code  

    All guests are required to meet a minimum standard of dress to enter the building. This includes the wearing of appropriate/acceptable footwear for all guests. All motorcycle riders are required to remove their helmet at the glass door entrance.

    Venue Ticket

    For any event which has not been sold through Ticketmaster, you will need to refer to the individual event organiser.  You’ll find details on the particular events page of this website.

    Entry Ticket 

    A valid ticket is compulsory to gain entry to each event.  Any guest without a ticket will be denied entry to the venue.  All guests must keep their ticket on their person at all times, should Sydney Entertainment Centre staff request to view the ticket.

    For general admission shows, your ticket may need to be exchanged for a wristband to gain access to the floor.  This exchange will be made with one of our ushers at the glass doors upon entry. You may collect a ‘souvenir’ ticket at each of the glass doors where guests entered the venue and the Information Desk at the end of the show.

    There are no ‘pass outs’ allowed. Guests should be aware that once they enter the building, if they choose to leave the building before the end for the show, they will not be readmitted.

    Cancellation of an Event 

    If the performance is to be rescheduled or cancelled by the event’s promoter, guests will need to refer to the events section of the Sydney Entertainment Centre website to check what alternatives arrangements have been organised. An event may be rescheduled to another date and/or venue, or if the event has been cancelled, how and where a refund of your ticket may be obtained.

    Recording of Events 

    For certain events, at the request of the promoter, the event may be recorded for future broadcast. Should the event be recorded, the Sydney Entertainment Centre will notify guests via the in-house monitor screens located on both levels of the venue. By your attendance at this event you are granting the producers and promoters the right to reproduce your likeness to film. Any other descriptions and accounts of this event involving individuals or their likeness is thus authorised by each ticket holder or their representative.

    Civil Liabilities Act (NSW) 2002 

    The Sydney Entertainment Centre would like all of our patrons to have the best possible time whilst visiting us.  For all events at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, there is a recreational risk that any crowded event may result in personal injury.  Under the Civil Liabilities Act (NSW) 2002, the Sydney Entertainment Centre wishes to advise that all guests should assess their own risks prior to entering the building.

    Terms and Conditions – Competitions & Giveaways 

    This competition is run by Sydney Entertainment Centre of 35 Harbour Street, DARLING HARBOUR, NSW 2000. 

    1. To have the chance to win 2 x COLD CHISEL tickets at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 15 November 2011.  Contest entrants must choose their favourite Cold Chisel song, then tell us in 25 words or less why, and submit their entry via the subscription page sign up, on the Sydney Entertainment Centre subscription page.  
    2. The winner will be ultimately selected by the Sydney Entertainment Centre Marketing Manager who will judge the most interesting and creative valid entry.  
    3. Entrants must reside in Australia and be over the age of 18. Sydney Entertainment Centre staff and their immediate family are not eligible to enter. A maximum of 1 entry per person will be accepted.  
    4. Competition opens at 09:00 (AEST) on 26.10.11 and entries will be accepted up until 13:00 (AEST) on 11.11.11 (The Period of Competition). Sydney Entertainment Centre will not take into consideration any late entries.  
    5. The winners will be notified via email on 11 November 2011.  
    6. The Prize will be awarded to 1 winner.  
    7. The prize consists of 2 x tickets to see Cold Chisel at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and cannot be redeemed for cash.  
    8. The winner authorises for their name and entry to be posted on the Sydney Entertainment Centre Facebook page.  
    9. The winner agrees to participate and co-operate in any promotional activities relating to the competition at the request of Sydney Entertainment Centre, including but in no way limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winner grants Sydney Entertainment Centre a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use any interview material, footage or photographs in all media worldwide. The winner accepts that they will not be entitled to any compensation for any use of this material.  
    10. In the case of intervention by an outside act, agent or event resulting in the delay to the competition proceeding on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, power failures, technical failure, strike, civil unrest, war or act of terrorism then Sydney Entertainment Centre may in its absolute discretion cancel or modify the competition and begin it again at a later date on the same terms and conditions, subject to any applicable State Legislation.
